Royal Mead

A £4-million Cat A refurbishment brought back to life this tired 1990s building close to Bath Spa railway station. The original building had strong attributes in an undersupplied and popular local market, and we undertook a back-to-frame refurbishment to create a sought-after office space, with roof terraces providing views over the World Heritage Site skyline. We delivered strong ESG credentials, achieving BREEAM Excellent, Fitwel 2 star, WiredScore Silver, ActiveScore Gold, AirScore Gold and EPC B.

The development was shortlisted for the BCO Regional Awards 2023 – Refurbished and Recycled Workplace, South of England and South Wales, beaten only by another Alchemy project, Campus Reading International.
